Building Knowledge Canada is proud to showcase the Elgin Park Redevelopment, a thoughtfully designed multi-unit housing project in Northumberland County. This latest phase brings the second two buildings to LEED Silver Certification, following the success of the first two completed.
The development transforms previously developed land into a mix of 4-plex and 6-plex buildings, totalling 40 units with one- to four-bedroom layouts. A central park encourages community interaction, while parking, access roads, and designated garbage and recycling areas are carefully integrated into the site plan.
Elgin Park was designed to exceed modern energy and environmental standards:
Increasing density from townhomes to stacked units maximizes the use of previously developed land while keeping residents close to schools, parks, and over a dozen community amenities within 800 metres.
This milestone project was delivered in partnership with Barry Bryan and Associates (Architects: Nick Swerdfeger & Lorraine Okungbowa), Dalren Limited (Contractor), D.G. Biddle (Mechanical Designer), Tasmont Plumbing, Heating & Air (HVAC Installer), and with Northumberland County Housing Corporation and Northumberland County — a true example of collaboration driving sustainable, high-performance housing.
